Hey everyone! This is going to be one long post so get comfy :)
I’ve been looking forward to this day for awhile – it’s been tough to keep this one a secret!!
I am thrilled to share that I am the newest member of the Scrapbook and Cards Today team!!! I am their new “Contributing Photo Editor”! (you can see the announcement on page 8 as well as on their blog later today!!) I have long been a fan of Scrapbook and Cards Today – it’s very current, very on-trend, very modern. I love the flow of the magazine, how cohesive it is, how there is always lots of restful white space, colour harmony and pleasing designs. Catherine and Kerry have been fantastic to work with, and I cannot thank them enough for allowing me this amazing opportunity!! The Team is certainly oozing with talent and I just feel incredibly humbled to have my name alongside theirs!
Every issue I will have a photography-based article called “Just Shoot Me!”, and my debut article can be found on page 30!! I also have a couple of layouts in the Teen feature on pages 40 and 42 and one in the bonus online gallery!
OK, feels sooooooooo good to share that!!!
But wait! There’s more! After a really fun time teaching at ScrapFest Kitchener in April, the amazing Lisa Furtney has invited me back to be a featured instructor, along with the incomparable Vicki Boutin, at ScrapFest YoU! Details are coming, but you can read a bit about it here and here!
It’s going to be held November 7-8 at this gorgeous resort! Lisa is an incredible event coordinator – no detail is left unattended, so I encourage you to join us and if you’re considering it, sign up for the newsletter because there will be a limited number of spots and I know they’ll go fast!!
Ok, how do I top all this good news?? By giving something away, of course!!
The wonderfully generous Sandy from Scrap Shotz has donated this month’s kit as a prize!!! Scrap Shotz has one of Canada’s longest running and most popular kit programs, with good reason: they are current, they are jam packed with goodies and Sandy’s customer service is second to none!! July’s kit Day Trippin', features the fun new travel line by Little Yellow Bicycle!
Want to win it??
Tell me what you liked the most about the new issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today, which is available as of today at your local scrapbook store as well as for download right here!
I’ll draw a winner on Saturday!!!
If you've read this far, thanks for sticking with me and sharing my news!!!
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for all the comments and emails, I was so excited to share my news, so thank you for sharing in my enthusiasm!
Wish I could draw a whole whack of winners, but I can't! So, the winner of the Scrap Shotz July kit is:

Like I said, I am kind of behind in sharing pictures, but people have been asking to see prom pictures so I'll start with those! Emma didn't graduate this year, but she was asked to the prom. Nor did she have two dates. . . LOL!
I will just say that I don't know how wedding photographers do it!! The pressure! The lack of control! The throngs of people! The poses! It was a very warm, very bright sunny day, with very little shade and no one who willingly wanted to move into it, so you do the best with what you've got, right??
I will also say that prom is a HUGE deal now, much moreso than when I graduated from high school all those years ago! Is it like that where you live??
Anyways, Emma had a great time and is already planning her prom details for next year!
Have a great weekend, hope you spend some of it reading Scrapbook and Cards Today!
